Great food and reasonable prices
Prices are reasonable. Sumo fried rice was very bland, shrimp was dry and tasteless. Chicken yakisoba noodle dish wasn't that great either.
I love going places and eating where the locals eat they live in the best setting they don't need to spend money on setting just quality food he only has excellent I had the ramen and panko chicken the ramen broth was full-bodied well simmered on the bone really rich flavors Wis thinly sliced barbecued pork panko chicken the batter was lights and perfectly seasoned on a bed of rice all for under $10
Nothing to hate here only excellence! Service, food, price all excellent!
Delicious food, good ingredients, and great low price. I ate the Miso Ramen, yum. Seating for, I think 6 inside, more outside. Locally owned & operated. I’m curious about the burger and the breakfast menu. I will return!
Sump fried rice is where it's at. Request no shrimp and your portion is way bigger. All their broth and noodle combs are great. Quick service and usually pleasent.
Best breakfast deal in town
It was our first time there. I had the teriyaki chicken and my husband had the roast pork. It both was really good and the portions were generous.
This place needs too be inspected now!!!!
I got the steak sumo bowl, and was pleasantly surprised! Great flavor and a low price for the portions you recieve! We will be eating here again!
The food was great! Hot fresh and delicious! I loved everything about it. Garlic chicken mini plate. 2 scoops rice. 1 scoop mac salad. Lots old delicious chicken with a sweet onion type garlic sauce. Wow. 6.99. Then 5 bucks for crab rangoon. Perfect
Very affordable and tasty food. I just wish it was not served in non eco-friendly styrofoam. The garlic fried mahi rice bowl was very tasty.
Good if you love local plate lunches.
Great food, reasonably priced. Fast and good service.
Nice place to stop for some local, Hawaiian food, when you’re in the rush or even get food to go. Menu is decent, prices are affordable and staff at this location is very pleasant. They also have quite a bit of Japanese foods as well.
Good Variety of foods..
Garlic Sump bowl for sure
Sorry. People are nice but food is really bad.
I only went in to buy rice so I can't really rate their menu.
Simple but delicious Hawaiian food. I like it and would go there again.
Great selection of affordable dishes.
I recommend trying there loco moco bacon and eggs. And also there bacon omelet is really good
Not 5 star fine dinin, but cost to convenience, flavor, and portions is 5/5. Steak and mushrooms (pictured) was tasty, not bogged down in grease, tender juicy steak and it was actual steak not "brown beef like substance"!!! Other dish we got was really good too (meat, veggies, rice). I'd go back if I lived there a lot. $8-15/portion.
I have been here before and it is absolutely amazing! The workers arrived at 530am and opened immediately, I thought we would have to wait for them to set up but I was shocked when we did not.Great selection from Korean BBQ to Udon bowls, great breakfast (all day) and very fair prices. Popular amongst the locals and it's very apparent why!
Okay food though nothing special. Very limited inside seating. Lots of outdoor tables. Good value.
Sumo Deli provides a wide variety of dishes for lunch and also serves breakfast. The portions are quite large, and a combo plate was easily enough for two meals for me. There are only a few tables inside and a few more outside, but it seemed like most people were getting food to go. I would definitely eat here again if in the area.
Great Bentos
Good prices. Decent selection of Asian/Hawaiian favorites. I had the chicken teriyaki bento. Too much for me to finish. Not a 5 star experience because they gave me a lot of plastic that I didn’t need. Hard to believe these guys aren’t conscious about what refuse they are passing off? Plastic waste is totally preventable.
They have the grinds. Fast service. Friendly. Good prices for the amount. Filling.
Chicken katsuyama was good. Shout pork was left untouched. Would recommend choosing another option
Good value for generous portions of quick and easy takeout food run by a local family. Around $9 for a salmon bowl with broccoli and brown rice or plate with rice and two sides (corn, noodles, macaroni salad, or slaw).
Delicious freshly made foods, reasonable price. I'll definitely be there again.
I do not recommend their ramen.
The garlic shrimp is breaded, and too salty
You don’t have to wait long for your food. In our case they were open after their closing time.
Look, the food isn’t bad at all and you get a TON of it for the price. I’ve been twice recently and the first time I got a teriyaki bento box. The taste was average but... SO MUCH FOOD. My lady love mixed the leftovers with some kale and eggs the next day and boom, it’s finally gone after 2 meals. The next time I ordered a double bacon burger and fries. Holy Lord above, was it delicious. Big and juicy, yum. It’s the best fast food burger in this shopping center, no doubt. My love got honey walnut shrimp and she loved it. But, She wondered why they were walnuts and not macadamia nuts, this IS Hawai’i, after all.The workers are so nice. My only gripe is with the styrofoam. Everything is in styrofoam... that stuff is bad for the environment, right? Am I the only one that saw that? Anyway time to switch to compostable, am I right? My lady love and I will be back for sure.
Affordable quality food at it's finest!
Great selection. Great food. Understated but fast service. Affordable. We just wanted something simple for the family post-flight and we found what must be one of the favorites of the locals. There was a steady line of people coming in and calling in orders. We will definitely be back.
The best food at the most affordable price in Kona.
This is a hidden gem in Kona. The prices are the cheapest for local, and Chinese, food you will find and they give an over abundance of food. You’ll have dinner and enough for lunch the next day. It is even in their mission statement on the big banner outside. The food is very delicious. Give them a try. You will not be disappointed
Try butter fish :) Loved it and came again today
We were so pleasantly surprised by the delicious food, great prices, quick service, and convenience of this place. If you ever want steak or shrimp while still eating cheap, this is the place. 5 stars 👍
Good food at good prices. Portions are very large and the side choices are all good, though you can't go wrong with the classic mac salad and steamed vegetables. The fish dishes in particular are all very good, I highly recommend the butterfish (pricier but worth it) and the fried mahi (it's listed as a combo, but you can get just the fried mahi instead of splitting fried mahi and something else).
Never will I ever go here again! Don't go here if you like ramen because this ramen is awful. I have had cup a noodles better than this... ramen taste like chow mein and probably are chow mein noodles. They don't have ponzu for the gyoza... The gyoza are actually potstickers. Overall horrible experience being the first thing you eat off the plane ride to the island. I should have went to KFC, its right next door to them!!
The curry was different than I am used to (I prefer yellow this was red) but it was balanced and the portions were generous.
It has really good food 👌 and it has so many dishes to choose from
Great inexpensive food. Love the vegetables and shrimp omelette.
Our favorite place to grind!!
Great food and variety
The 5 times I've eaten here has confirmed to me each time that this is my favorite place to eat. I haven't tasted any off-putting flavors in any of the food, the price is right, the servings are very generous, I like the location and really dig the atmosphere; I haven't been the least bit disappointed. The service is great and staff are friendly and sweet. The cooks know what they're doing. This is my go-to whenever I want to eat out. I'm not really feelin' the more formal and expensive tourist-attraction restaurants with food usually twice the price that will fill you yet still require a bowl of cereal a couple hours later. If you're into an informal setting and lots of great food I most recommend this place!
